cinema membership??

Quote:

Tomorrow I am having a free leg wax - then going to check out the nearest (well, not that close) Tesco Superstore to see what bargains I can find. Might also go to gym (paid for in membership) and cinema (paid for in membership).

Can anyone tell me some more about the "cinema membership" please? Is it only certain cinemas, ie VUE or something, I'm not sure I've heard of it or know where to start looking? Thanks in advance!

Cineworld (used to be UGC Cinemas) have a membership card, unlimited movies at £10.99 a month, or £13.99 if you use London West End area.

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

You can use any UGC (or Cineworld now) Cinemas. although London West end costs more. We go to around 10 films a month, just over a pound per film. Cheap night out. We've done three in a day before as well. Even cheaper whole day out. Just take sandwiches with you in a bag.:money:
    Debt at worst: £33000
    Debt now: £0, (Ok, a £650 overdraft)
£3000 Credit card (aiming to get this down with 0% card)

Just one note of caution, i have a ugc card and was going to get one for my daughter too. the manager of my cinema advised me not to sign up for one for daughter as there are plans for the company to be taken over again , restructured, and then the cards will only be able to be used in certain cinemas of the new group. Apparently mine is not going to be one of them, and i would have to travel 20 - 30 miles to one of the ones that will use them. Okay for me but DD does not drive and would not be able to get there by public transport so would be no use to her.
i have had mine for several years and could cancel without any problem but if she had signed up she would have to complete a full year even if our cinema stopped the scheme!!!
I would ask if there have been any developments on this before signing up and ending up with a useless card. Apart from that the card is great value and I have definately had value for money over the past years of use.

I would sign up and then complain most viciously and threaten to report them to trading standards etc...

But I'm evil like that! :A

Seriously, I have had them for my wife and I for years and find them exceptional value for money.
