How to write an employee discount request letter?

Firstly I apologise if this isn't the right place to ask, just hoping someone might be able to help!
I would like to contact several companies to request a discount for our staff for our employee discount scheme. Obviously there is benefit for the company as they will be highlighted amongst our staff (800+), but I am not sure how to write the letter in a way which will hopefully get the companies to say yes!
Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to approach this? Or even if there are any business owners here who could give advice on what is more likely to get them to say yes to offering a discount?
Thanks in advance everyone,
Jezz

Well I can't help much with the actual wording but I would have thought you should maybe start with plugging the idea that you are offering free, repeated advertising to 800+ local working households/families.
Then make it clear that it's an employee discount scheme, and the only special request you would make would be that they would need to be willing to offer a modest discount to your employees.
Something like that. 'Free advertising' first, and 'oh yes can you offer a discount please' second. Just my opinion having worked in various companies at Managerial level (and having run a small business from home, selling to local families, where advertising and word of mouth was key).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I know nandos do 20% nhs discount
but wonder if its worth contacting companies that are local to you and not nationwide intially such as independant restaurants as these may be more likely to want to promote themselves to people who live and work in that area.
I know I use shops that offer me discount before others so would def be worth writing to them and mention the free advertising they will be getting.0 -

Yes - that's what I thought.
I know people can go online and quite easily get discount codes for national retailers, so thought it would be better to try and get local / smaller companies!
Thanks for your advice!0 -
