Does your current mortgage have the option of overpaying?

I also have an endowment mortgage for a similar amount (£32500). Although we have another 15 years to go, we already have a significant shortfall. I looked into changing our mortgage from interest only to repayment and the difference was £125 per month. As our local building society's mortgages are flexible, we found that overpaying £90 per month is bringing the capital down to an affordable level to make up for the shortfall.

You may want to ask if this is something you could do instead?
