Can anyone please help me find a well-priced HD-ready LCD TV, that is at least 37"?
It's for my dad, and he wants a reliable and well-known brand, eg Sony, Toshiba, and he's not keen on "lesser" brands such as LG and Phillips.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Yes I have to agree with Herman.... I've always been very happy with Sony products.
Anyway, can anyone help to find any good-brand TVs? (doesn't have to be Sony!)0 -
This should probably be on the I wanna thread,
Sony , Philips, Tosh and the likes have been market leaders for a while but are now being closely chased by the new boys especially LG. In the whole scheme of things you tend to get what you pay for.

I personally woudl not under estimate LG/Samsung, the quality is superb. I would avoid Sharp though. Also I read somewhere, and can't find the article now that 37" really is the max size for LCD above that plasma is better as it scans quicker.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. I'mn genuinely ineterested - why avoid sharp?
Their Aquos range was the first range of LCD TV's, they have consistently won awards for the Aquos range and generally always come highly recommended by industry experts.
If you are looking for a cheap 37", check out Richer Sounds (Richersounds.co.uk) who have some good Easter deals on at the moment.Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -
Zincoxide..... My parents have a Sharp CRT tv and it's cr*p. i had a Sharp digital camcorder, cr*p, a Sharp mobile phone, cr*p and a Sharp microwave that got replaced 3 times in 12 months. Not a good recommendation!!!
I recently bought a Samsung 42" plasma, originally going in to the store for a 37" LCD. Of all the sets in there, Philips, Samsung, Sony, the Sharp had the worst picture.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.
