Becoming a Virtual Assistant?

Hi
I am looking to earn some additional income but as I work full time as a project manager it needs to be weekend/evening work. A friend suggested using my admin skills to become a virtual assistant - is there anyone who has done this and can advise on whether it is something that lends itself to the hours I have and any companies that I can approach?:p
Thanks in advance

Hi - I have a few friends that have done this type of work before and they generally end up working during the day because that's when their customers need it. I think overall it can be rewarding, but most of them have small clients who are self employed and can't afford a full time PA. My friends that do it operate their own business, running it from their own homes using their own websites rather than being part of a larger organisation.
A good search on a popular search engine might help.
If you have good organisational skills and are free in weekends/evening you could try party plan - it's worked for me, but again a good search on a popular search engine will help you find a variety of companies you can explore.
Hope this helps.0 -
Thanks Moonbeam - I was worried about the hours. I don't mind ebing in front of a pc or on a phone for a few hours a night but it's had to find something suitable. I have 2 kids so not sure about party plan due to tnheir cared and social life!0
