Nasty Letter from Capital One

Hi Everyone,
I went BR on 2nd July and I've now had a nasty letter from capital one issuing a default notice and saying that I have breached the terms of the credit agreement. It says they will contact the official receiver to claim dividends etc. It then goes on to mention taking me to court to recover money. I thought this couldn't happen once you were BR. Could someone explain for me please?
Thanks,
Poodle!

They are trying to scare you into paying some money, if you did pay them however the OR could claim it back from them so its pointles.. The letters get sent out to nearly everyone though.
We had a similar one from egg saying we had breeched.. now they want the debt in full.. they will be contacting our OR.. they want their money now.. blah blah blah
bin it.. or send it to another dca who is chasing you in one of their pre pay envelopes :-)0 -
It's just a standard letter they send out, nothing to worry about.
Funnily enough Capital One were the only one of my creditors who marked my credit file correctly as soon as I was discharged.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I had a similar one (think it was also Captial One if memory serves me right), and it petrified the life out of me, esp as Im on a DRO, and they were "making a claim of assets".
Turns out its just a standard letter they send out.
I just filed mine away to that fateful day when Im discharged and I can shread them allI used to be Snow White, but I drifted.Mae West

Would never ring a DCA. Everything in writing. Regardless if you are BR or not. You have left that life behind.0

I worried when i first had one as i did not understand it but then you learn its just a ploy to try and get money when they should not be trying to get cash from you as you are BR. About time really they were slapped for this but then again let them waste there money whilst keeping out postal service going. he he:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:
