What will mortgage lenders take as my base salary

Hi All,
I want to take out a mortage and am filling in a mortgage in principle form. I'm looking at my pay slip and wondering what to put down as my gross salary. Looking at my payslip my monthly gross salary is £1993. However, about £80 is taken out each month for pension scheme etc. Will mortage lenders look at the £1993 value or £1913??
Many thanks.

It's normally the 'top line' as we call it round here.
So that would be the £1993 in your case.
Are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation? :cool:0 -
woohoo, I'm happy then..would have been really annoyed if they took the amount after benefits...especially as I dont even know what all the benefits are that I'm paying for
