1st Credit Ltd...Advice Required..Pls
Some years back I lived at my partners house, however not officially, and this week I received a letter from a company called 1st Credit Ltd From Reigate Post Code RH2 7WB quoting that my current address has been supplied as a possible address for a subject from the old address.
Then it goes on to request that I contact them on some 0870 number, which will cost me.
Has anyone had any dealing with these...?
I never had any agreement or loans at this old address, however my partner at that time did...Will I be black listed at my new address if I don't contact these people..?
Thanks in advance.

i've had dealings with this dca over a disputed debt of £500 to lloyds tsb and they are a nightmare.
daily phone calls to work, letters sent to my work address ive told them that i dont accept that i owe the money and that i have no intention of paying yet they never let up
the less you have to do with this firm the better0 -
Sounds like it might be wise just not to have any contact with them full stop..
Thanks0 -
DO NOT contact these people, if you are sure that you don't have any outstanding debt then it is your ex-partner who must have some unpaid debt and they must be having difficulties getting in touch with him and in some way managed to have your details instead. If you have not signed any credit agreements with him then you are not financially connected and you have nothing to fear from them. Just IGNORE them and NEVER, EVER call them0

if you happen to speak to them. do not acknowledge the debt. you owe nothing to them so do not admit to any debt.
next tell them
I wish to deal with this matter in writing only, and should I continue to receive calls from you or your company, then this may constitute harassment' in which case I will be forced to take further action under Section 1 of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. ' Thank you and good bye.
after i started paying them i found out a lot more. it is very unlikely they can provide the signed credit agreement. it costs a £1 postal order to them and legally they have to provide it. if they cant their demands for money are not legal and they cannot get heavy to reclaim them.
remember these people purchased your debt for pennies in the pound, they are not collecting for the original lender. they have already claimed from insurance for your bad debt.
if they persist in calls log them and report they have a catalogue of complaints against them

Ignore their letters until they write to you detailing what it's about.0
