the other day i picked loads of cherries from a tree-they were all balck and v delicious. Today at work i suggested to a collegue we go picking some cherries id seen by the canal at lunch time they were black too but a bit smaller-but these were horrible really sour and bitter-now i know you can get sour cherries but how can you tel them apart?(Id rather not have to eat them again!)

Can you post photos of the tree, then close-ups of the fruit and leaves?

NoI have a Morello cherry cropping beautifully outside my back door. The cherries are plump and bright red, but are sour as anything (great for jam and puddings :T )

If the birds have systematically stripped the tree of every last one the morning before you get there, it was a sweet cherry tree. If you have a chance to get and try some, they're probably going to be sour as anything!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0

Iv'e been picking cherries at the side of the road. I think they are different sorts of cherry trees. As they have not all ripened at the same time. It is good as I keep going back when I have dealt with the last lot. Maybe they are just not ripe yet. Eat one in about a week and see.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:
