Just got this from another freebie site in the Far East: works like an absolute charm too, apparently.

Just leave a couple of old stockings next to your fireplace. The guys I've spoken to reckon that these get filled with great free stuff the next morning, though there were some complaints about muddy footprints on the carpet and something smelly that looked a bit like garden manure.

Got to be worth a try - will report tomorrow if it works.

PS: Can't find any T&C on this one, but there's a rumour on the boards that it's a sort of match deposit bonus and for best results you have to shell out for a bottle of port and some mince pies. And a carrot too: no idea what this is about - looks like a possible scam, maybe?

Well despite leaving out a whiskey and bit of shortbread Santa didn't leave what I specifically asked for but hey there is always next year
