Bargain or Fake?

Options
I'm thinking of buying some Tiffany jewellery. Prices on the Tiffany web site are as high as expected but there is another distributor that offers impressive discounts. I realise that fakes abound in the jewellery market (on eBay for instance) but this outlet appears to be genuine. Has anyone experience of buying from them? If I risked a purchase using my credit card, where would I stand if the item turned out to be fake?

You know the saying: if it looks too good to be true....

Tiffany's are a well known brand who can charge ALOT for what they sell. I can imagine there are alot of fakes out there, and personally, I wouldn't want to chance it- and unless you have the bottle to go into a branch and ask the sales assistants, you will never really know if its fake or not- that would irritate me, if not the embarassment of being told "no, its a cheap fake and you have wasted money on it" would be another deterrant!

I would stick to the store if I were you, its well known there are fake Tiffany items around in their masses!

"Yes, all our Tiffany & Co jewelries come from Tiffany Hong Kong Distributors, 100% Authentic sterling silver made guaranteed, exactly the same as the jewelries in Tiffany New York stores. All our jewelries are stamped with "Tiffany & Co" and will come with Tiffany & Co gift packing including a blue box, a pouch, a piece of tarnish-proof cloth and a gift hand bag. If you took the items that you purchased to the local jewelers and were told that they were not sterling silver or the prices were not worth, we will Fully Refund you money"

Interesting wording - They only guarantee that the jewellery is sterling silver, not that it is from Tiffany.

Sorry - strayed on here from comps board, as I saw the Tiffany thread - I'll go back there now...

Good point. I've done some more digging and found that the domain is registered to:

    375 huansixilu Room 1205
    Guangzhou
    510010
    China

as from 04-May-2009 even though they claim to have been trading since 2006.
