Although cereal boxes are flimsy as filing trays, they are really quite good as cardbord stand-up magazine/document holders, with the top and half ofone of the narrow sides cut off, and also diagonal cut offs of the two large sides. Oh dear, I hope I am making sense, is there anyone who knows what I am talking about and could post an image of it?

I know what you mean Caterina. Something like this I hope! Couldn't do a picture so I've done a link instead :D I've made similar things from old washing powder boxes before today too. They are usually very sturdy boxes.
  • The blue plastic mushroom trays are very good as in trays too.
Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.

Assuming you are working for the minimum wage, the time you waste on this project will be far outweigghed by borrowing a pound or two and a trip to poundland to get a reasonable one.

Ah, but what if you live really, really far from a Poundland ? In France, for instance ? How much time-is-money units would you waste then, travelling to get the reasonable one, which by that time might have been snapped up by a local housewife on her daily shopping trip anyway...
  • Thanks everyone for all your help!! I placed an ad on freecycle and someone very local has replied! They have had a sort out and have one exactly like I need going spare!! Yeah to freecycle! Never put wanted ad on before and it has come up trumps, thanks sexymouse for suggesting it! x x
