I think you're absolutely doing the right thing. And if it goes well, what's the rush to move out (especially as it will be mid winter and cold - brrrr) you could stay on a few more months and save a bit!

Fantastic news, it sometimes does take a radical change of paradigm to see the simplest solutions to problems
I too gave up a fantastic town centre appartment which I loved and adored to move in to a shared house in the middle of f*ing nowhere to halve my outgoings. I also halved my social life but ho-hum, it'll be worth it in the end so good luck!! :T :T :T0
