victoria sponge quantities

could anyone give me a tried and tested quantity for a victoria sponge cake in 8'' tins. I have been given 210gm, flour, sugar and butter with 5 eggs, but have found this really only makes a deep 6'' one.

The other day i doubled the quantity but used 10 eggs, which does seem excessive, but I am open to advice

I use the weight of three eggs (usually about 6oz) in flour, marg and sugar and that makes a decent size sponge (in two tins).

Weigh your eggs and add the same weight of SR flour, sugar and butter. I find four eggs enough for 2 x 8inch tins
