Old current account haunting me

One quick thought make sure you keep a paper trail, keep a copy of all letters sent, sent them recorded delievery and check online with Royal Mail - (theres instructions on the back of the recorded slip - with what to do).
Also if they ring, say you wont discuss anything over the phone, you want it in writing.
I know some of it sounds so simple, but sometimes (me included, just get the letter off and trust Royal Mail / the company to be responsible and admit they got it!)
Good luck xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
The saga continues...
I got a letter from them today, they have agreed to remove the default from my credit file 'in the next 14 days' but are saying they do not agree that the debt is statute barred as they wrote letters to my old address and phone calls within the last 6 years.
The last payment was March 2003 and they have never had written acknowledgement from me.
They say that if I do not pay the reduced £3000 in the next 14 days they are going to refer it for collection again.
They think that their writing to my old address means it isnt statute barred. Is there any documentation I can send them that confirms they are wrong? Or any test cases I can quote? I am a bit stuck now they are not accepting that its statute barred.0
