10 Myths about Bankruptcy

well, br is definatly not the easy option, i lost all my selfrespect and even now suffer severe bouts of depression. We are haveing our fitst holiday since br, have been saving very very hard eating all basic shopping etc etc. And next week we fly abroad for what i feel is my holiday of a life time, yet i feel ashamed still that i had to be declared br. Im not excited about the holiday at all, even though everything is paid for - and we owe nothing.
The pain still stay, abbey keep selling my debts on, a new company chases me for something i dont owe now and again the pain and sorrow starts again. I want to move on, but its hard. Ive check my credit rating and everyone else has accepted my br, all except abbey - santander.
So anyone who thing that br is the easy option, its not. Its not over in a few months and it certainly not the quick solution so many people think.

Enjoy your holiday - you deserve it. You haven't committed a crime you know! Have you seen the thread 'Bankrupts Past and Present'? You'd be surprised who has also been bankrupt.

Filing bankruptcy is a way of people getting back in the driving seat and taking control. You can't put all bankruptcies into one box either. Some people have gone bankrupt through no fault of their own, from relationship breakdowns, deaths etc.
Lets stick to topic on this thread.

Myths then!?
Mortgages.. you'll never get one after being bankrupt.
You can get one (I have reason to believe) but the APR may be high, proof that you no longer have lots of credit and have saved a substantial deposit. All is not lost then!0 -
:rotfl: I doubt that is what the person that brought this thread back to the front page wants.fiveyearplan wrote: »Lets stick to topic on this thread.
seen it too many times, a newbie with one or two posts brings it to the front page, followed by other's, with low post counts, but obviously not new, with only one intention;)Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….
