help for friend

can anyone advise how my friend can ger herself back on the property ladder. She had her flat reposessed 4 years ago and she dosn`t even have a credit card. Maybe first she would need to increase her credit rating, how would she do this?
ny advise much appreciated. she has a really good job (senior social worker)

If the repo was 4 years ago and has been settled in full and she has had no further problems, then your friend will be able to get a mortgage. She will find that most lenders will want a 15% deposit from her, although there are lenders who will require less (minimum of 5% though).

The best thing for her to do is to have a word with a whole of market broker who can assess her situation in full as there is no point on her missing out on a good deal on the back of something posted in a forum.
