Philips AA batteries.

Options
My local Currys are having a closing down sale and are doing Philips Extremelife AA batteries for 47p for a four pack. Are these batteries any good?

Yes, if you have something that takes that size of battery...
For 47p even if they were rubbish you'll still have a bargain!
If you will the end, you must will the means.
  • The reason I'm a bit suspicious is, a couple of months ago, I bought a ten pack of Sony New Ultra batteries (8+2 free) in a Poundland shop. I put two of them in my digital camera and after taking just one photo, it said 'batteries depleted'. So much for Sony New Ultra batteries bought in Poundland!

What I would do is check the use by date on the pack and make sure they've not been sitting around for too long. As I say for 47p it's worth the gamble IMO ;)

On the cardboard pack of the 10 Sony batteries, it says 'Best Before 2011'.
Basically they are crap batteries, I think.

Anyway I bought two 4-packs from Currys today. Fingers crossed!

Yeah, I should have done that.

I went abroad for six weeks shortly after buying them and now it's too late. Lesson learn't, I guess.

These Poundland type '10 for £1' batteries are never long lasting enough for things like digital cameras, however they are great for things like remote controls or clocks...
