do you HAVE to contact the subscriber to stop the DD being taken, or is it as simple as just cancelling the direct debit with your bank?

also do these cashback sites not find out that you're cancelling your subscription halfway through?!

99% of the people on here just cancel the online direct debit, no fuss and much easier.

Quidco and others don't know you have cancelled as long as you make the first payment, they usually pay out on that alone.

Mine arrived yesterday (the cosmetics that is - my magazine also arrived previously) with a nice letter apologising for having to substitue a different colour of lipstick. It is still a lovely shade and there were 2 eyeshadows and a bronzer. That was a good deal, I think! :T

13 Issues By 3 Monthly Direct Debit £13

It says in the text above the purchase box:
Direct Debit purchases have to be bought individually and minimum subscription term is 12 months

This is very confusing. Why do they sell 13 issues for £13 if the minimum subscription is 12 months?

I attempted to cancel today but they said no.

Anyone know of the legality of selling 13 issues but stating a 12 month contract?

I've never had any problems (yet) by just cancelling my direct debit. You can do it online.

Anyone got any idea what happens if you sign up to a minimum 12 month subscription but just cancel the direct debit as soon as they've taken the first one? Can they/ do they chase you for it? I think I've signed up to a 12 month by mistake and cancelled the direct debit before I realised....

If you are thinking of keeping the subscription then you need to contact them to let them know. Or even call them to cancel it. If they come to collect the next amount - normally in 3 months. They will probably send you a letter.
