Is it just me or have there not been as many good offers around lately? Do you think they're getting wise to us? Or are people just not posting as many?

The website I mentioned in my post, from what I could gather, is an affiliate site and the owners get paid for the trials/ offers there - I found a reference to an Elle subs with free offer that according to the thread did not have an offer at all, since noone received it. And MSErs were complaining about the site. But I will definitely stick to this threads for new subscriptions information. Thanks everyone.

There's nothing wrong with magsite per se, it is a legitimate affiliate site, in that it doesn't offer anything directly itself, but sends you on to the real company's site to make the purchase - so you never buy from magsite, just from the direct supplier.

Affiliate schemes are common accross the web, and it's the same principle that Quidco, Ipoints, rpoints and greasy palm use to rebate you the money/points whatever. It is also the method by which MSE makes at least some of it's running costs (check out the * marked weblinks in the main articles and the explaination here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1148661420,18378, ). And this is the reason that other affiliate sites are not posted in the forums.

okay I'm new to this all and have just recieved the first issues of my first 2 subscriptions.

£1 has been taken out of my account.... how exactly do I now end my subscription?
  • Is it possible to get subscriptions to some of the weekly magazines instead of all the monthly glossies?

I'm looking for Peoples Friend for my mum or even any of the weekly competition mags such as Take a Break - anything really for a retired mum - NOT celebrity mags.

i never appreciated how expensive the weekly magazines are until I have started buying them for my mum to get her through a long hospital stay.

Most of them are over 70p each.

    Hi
All I have ever done is once they have taken the money out, I cancel the direct debit on internet banking, I have never had any problems with this.

I've got a DD for £1 to Dennis Publishing which went out in April, I'm sure I cancelled it but when I've logged on to Online Banking today it's still showing there BUT it won't let me cancel it - anyone had any similar problems?

Yes, I've had this. I have had a sub with a publisher then cancelled it. I've then started another one (too many good offers) and the publishers have then restarted the d/d rather than setting up a brand new one. I have been unable to cancel it online because it says there is more than one d/d set up on this ref no. if you phone the bank with the ref no they can do it no problem.

    Hi,

I read somewhere on this forum high praise for this magazine. Is there any subscription offer with gift at the moment? Thanks.

Do you not have to send written confirmation of the cancellation to Dennis publishers? Im sure I read that somewhere.

Auto Express - free BTCC tickets ( 6 issues trial subscription)

I am very dissapointed today instead of these tickets got 4 naf posters of cars, as they have run out of tickets due to high demand.
I think this is quite unlikely as i phoned and took put subs straight away when subs copy came in April ( before was on sale in shops). more like no tickets as you've cancelled subs!!

    Has any one experienced this???
