just want to ask if anyone had problems cancelling DD after 3 months if there was any suggestion of a 12 month minimum subscription?
I clicked through on PracticalPhotography order form (free tripod offer), submitted my DD, received my confirmation email. This was a 3 month DD, no mention on screen of 12 months.
Now I've seen this year commitment mentioned in their magazines, and on a summary page of the publishers home site, but still, no mention on the actual sign up page, or in T&C's. I've printed off all screen info, so proof that I didn't sign a year agreement.

I sign up for 12 months offers with no intention of keeping them running after the first 3 months.

At the end of the first three months, I have already cancelled the dd with the bank, who automatically inform the magazine company. I then email the mag company & say that I am not happy as I still haven't received my free gift (a lie) & that I want to cancel my subscription as I am not happy with the service.

I have also in the past informed them that the link I used didn't say anything about a 12 month minimum & that I want it cancelled immediately.

    They both work every time.

Received my Liz Earle set yesterday from RED yesterday, and today have received my haircare set from GLAMOUR. Sadly, it doesn't suit my hair type (didn't know as took the sub details off this board) so will be selling it all on Ebay, methinks! :T

Practical Photography are offering a Jessops 320 tripod as a free gift, but sent me a cheaper tripod. i emailed twice to complain, then cancelled my DD before the first payment. i first asked them to replace for the unwanted gift, but no reply. when i told them i was cancelling they gave me a freepost address.

firstly, i want to say it was a great disappointment not getting the gift advertised.
it was exactly what i was looking for, and i would even have paid 2 quarterly DDs. (it was £32 item, and £10.50 DD, so still saving)
if they had run out of stock they should have emailed, and not fobbed off a cheaper gift. so i would now warn against taking up this offer.

    secondly, what do you think?
should i keep the still-usable-and-free-but-not-quite-what-i-wanted tripod, or tell them i posted it ?

A good news storys printed here first.

Many moons ago when this site was in its infancy and there were few moneysavers chasing the same carrot, i use to receive such wonderfull gifts from the mags companies as i discovered a legal loop hole and the money from these was invested, i now have a small business which is making me a living with hours which i decide.

The loop hole is still their, however the gifts are such that i now order them for personal use which saves me a small fortune. It all started with a tiny tube of free anti wrinkle cream which sold for 54.00 which inspired a eureeka moment and this funded my ideas and successful enterprise.

Positive thinking, self belief, a good idea kept close to your chest and very little financial out lay makes for a good recipe. Success or not you have tried with out breaking the bank.

    Yey!!

Recieved my Kenneth Cole Black Perfume and the substitute for the body lotion

REN Neroli and Grapefruit Shower Wash
Ren Grapeseed Jojoba and Shea Butter Body Cream

Both these 2 combined add up to £33.50. Much better than the Body Lotion I was originally supposed to get.

    Very pleased indeedily!

HI...even though i am not new to the mse site...i am new to this thread....so sorry if my questions sound abit naff.....i dont normally buy mags any more as i think most of them are to full of adverts etc.... but... if i can get a free gift then brill....so i am going to have a go at the offers....my main question... is which are the magazines which tend to have money off coupons in them....?
as lately i have noticed the weekly ones...have had a few money off coupons in them.....

and what are the pit falls to look out for when there are offers 3 for £1. etc.......

i will be making myself a nice cuppa...getting a pack of choccie bikkies and locking the door...so i can read the mag threads without the kids...butting in......:rotfl:
