I got the mountfield MB28d in BQ for £150 today.... was £199 and £290 before that.... best on scouring google was £178 so seemed a good deal.

I too have a big and not very flat garden. I don't know anything about petrol strimmers but got one from B&Q last year about £70. What a nightmare, really hard to start, the line constantly breaking, and not spooling itself on. In the end I took it back, bought an extension cable (30m) and a powerful electric Black and decker strimmer. Which is fantastic. In fact so impressed was I with the elctirc that I got a cheap strimmer mower (£30) from Argos, again excellent on roughish ground. I still use my petrol mower on the flat gardens but getting the electric strimmer, flymo and extension cable was the best buy.
