Paying in to UK state Pension

if you move abroad can you pay indefinitely into UK state pension?
I recently had a reply but need confirmation on this point please.

"unless you are a UK tax resident, you can only contribute NI conts to the UK for five years. After that date you have to go into the French state pension system."

and can you be contributing to both a french and a uk state pension at the same time? thanks

It's certainly possible to pay voluntary NI contributions if you are abroad to keep up your entitlement to the basic state pension ( not S2P). However the position in individual foreign countries may vary.

Payments into the French state pension system would probably be credited to you if you later wanted to claim a UK state pension. Thus very unlikely to be worth contributing to both.
