Allied Carpets has gone into administration, as the stagnating housing market led to a fall in demand for carpets and flooring.
But 51 of its 217 stores and its insurance business have been sold immediately, saving 400 jobs, administrator BDO Stoy Hayward said.

Yeah I just saw that. I guess the management or some sort of venture capitalist company have done a pre-pack deal for those 51 stores.
At least all customer orders will be fulfilled.
Bad news for the landlords of the stores though, I guess they won't be seeing much for 166 stores and only a fraction for the 51 stores now sold on.
The same for the supplies as well maybe?I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

Looks like Uncle Bill lost a few pennies, he had a 3% stake in Allied http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/2790723/Bill-Gates-takes-stake-in-UKs-Carpetright.htmlI used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another, so please feel free to ignore this.0
