Change the plug on a Dyson!?

My dyson fell over today and when I went to plug it in one of the pins of the plug seems to have snapped and is at a funny angle so I can't plug it in, I've tried forcing it back into position but it won't go so I need to change the plug.
1) The plug itself is a moulded one so I can't unscrew it to get the wire out - can I just cut the wire and then attach another plug?
2) I've never changed a plug in my entire life so could somebody please 'remind' me where each wire goes and what colour it is etc.
Thanks in advance.

Cut the plug off and then strip the wires.
The way I always remember is blue to the left and brown to the rightI haven't got one!0 -
There should be no problem cutting the main wire and then stripping the wires as suggested by cheekymole. Another way to remember which way the wires go is...
BLUE has 4 letters, as does LEFT
BROWN has 5 letters, as does RIGHT
Just don't forget to attatch the earth wire (green/yellow wire) to the pin in the middle.0 -
probably won't have an earth wire with it being all plastic (could be wrong though!)I haven't got one!0

Just took the plug of a hand blender (didn't have a spare) and then cut the plug of the dyson....
Both only have a brown and a blue wire - no 'earth' green/yellow as mentioned above and on the bbc diy link.
Help?!0 -
If there's no green/yellow wire; just put the blue on the left and brown on the right and away you go.
I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0 -
