Hi Everybody,
Is it possible to obtain a mortgage now I am discharged if I put up a 15% deposit?

  • Hi,

I was looking this time last year. You wont find any high street lender offering you a mortgage you will have to find a broker. 15% wont be enough they will be looking of upwards of 35%+ and the interest rates will be high 8%+

The best advice is to clean up your credit file, try and get some sort of credit small tho to help rebuild your credit file and save like mad. Its been two years since i was discharged and have a savers account,an ISA with the co-op but still a basic bank account(god knows when they will let me upgrade).

Yeah i think you will struggle although they are out here but there is no doubt you will pay through the nose and i have to be honest i still dont think its the right time to buy.
