What to tell the bank? First time buyer or not

Hi,
I have a mortgage on a house already which I own half with my brother.
I am now buying a place with my girlfriend who is a first time buyer.
How will the bank view this? Some of the best deals are available to FTBs so I would prefer to say I am a FTB with her.
Thanks

You already have a mortgage so you're not a first time buyer.0

Your existing mortgage will show on your credit file so they will find out if you are lying.I am a Mortgage Adviser and Freelance JournalistYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. As others have said be honest and up front, they have means of checking to see what your commitments are.
I am sure that lying can also be classed as fraud in certain circumstances too.:hello:0 -
Tell them, but does this mean you will not be eligible for the FTB mortgages? The other property may be as much an asset to your application as an impediment.0

If you lie, they find out, you'll be refused.
That shows on your credit record.0 -
Thanks for the replies, I knew that it will come up on the credit report but was more wondering which way the banks sway as to whether they give you the products of a FTB or not when your going in half and half with someone that is a FTB.0
