Good sources for Raffle Prizes?

Hi guys,
I’m fundraising for Habitat for Humanity, and I’m looking for companies that may be willing to donate a raffle prize. Has anyone done this sort of thing in the past and know of any companies that are good at donating things? Or do you have any other good fundraising ideas?
Also, we are having a Chinese Banquet in Chinese Buffet King in Victoria Square in Belfast at 7.30pm on 30th July. Tickets cost £20 with proceeds to Habitat for Humanity Brazil Team. Raffle prizes on the night. If anyone would like to go, send me a pm.
Thanks!

Hi
I raised money for charity a few years back.
I found that large companies already donate to charity at a corporate level.
Your best bet is to target smaller local companies, and ask them to donate prizes. Of course your promotional poster must list all those who provided prizes (it's free advertising for them!).
Laser Electrical / S&R Electric (vouchers)
Stena
Travel Agents (voucher towards holiday booking)
Local Restaurants (voucher towards a meal)
Companies who provide services to your employer
Small off-licenses (great for bottles of wine as prizes)
Vouchers are easier to get than actual goods, because it guarantees that a customer will spend more than the value of the voucher.
A good method is a nice letter followed up by a personal visit (with a copy of the letter). They nearly always give something, when you are there in person. An off-licence near me, gave me a couple of bottles of wine and put them down as breakages!
A good idea is to run a quiz, followed by the raffle and then a disco.
Good luck.0 -
