Is my contribution enough?

Hi all I finally have the BR forms to fill in for OH. However I have a question re my contribution. My total income consists of both child tax credit and child benefit and is £546 per month, Is £300 per month a satisfactory contribution towards household expenses? Thank you very much to anyone who can take the time to answer my question xxx

You can try it.

Its my understanding that tax credit and child benefit are household income - its not yours, despite being paid into your account. Tax credits are payable to both of you on a joint claim so its not yours solely (if you see what I mean).

But I would probably not include them and see what happens, with a thought that the OR may question their non-inclusion and be prepared to submit a new SOA with all my and kids expenses on to to account for the money.

Thanks skylight, I'm worried now!! I've opened a new account with cccs for my own debts and am due to start payments with them shortly, I've literally had to wing it with the figures on it! Hope he doesn't question it, i was on the understanding that the ctc was my income! i've even stated on the br forms that he is not in receipt of any other benefit!
