Loved it, but sometimes the joke can be the other way round:
Welsh signwriter's rude pop at English
Jul 1 2007 by Matt Withers, Wales On Sunday
A CHEEKY Welshman thought he’d had the last laugh when he painted a London pub sign with the words: “All English are a**eholes!”
And for a while, it looked like he’d got away with penning ‘Twll din pob sais’ on the front of The Feathers in Westminster.
But he was finally rumbled during a visit by a Welsh-speaking member of the historic pub’s management team, who broke it to the landlord that an insult to his English customers stood in place of the traditional Prince of Wales motto ‘Ich dien’ or ‘I serve’.
So last week, the joke was well and truly over when red-faced bosses ordered a rapid repainting of the royal emblem – and apologised for the embarrassing prank.

I have been dying to disagree on that thread and say that newbies should know their proper place, just like we had to when I was at school. You know, public humiliation, with a debagging in the quad, followed by an upending in the toilet with the flush being pulled....that sort of thing.
The point is, until you have been through an initiation rite or two you're not really 'in,' no matter what the [STRIKE]teachers[/STRIKE] people in charge say. People damn well shouldn't know what PPR or AE means when they arrive; they should find out slowly, like I did. Next thing, they'll be having lessons in it.
But you're right, someone would take it seriously, or be offended.;):(0 -
