Friday 17th July - What small DFW things have you done today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D

Good morning everyone....it's Friday at last:beer:
I'm off to my sister's after school today so we can vist the Next sale in the morning - now that's not very DFW I know, but it's great fun:rotfl:
It's wet and horrible right now - I don't think the Sports days will be going ahead at school somehow:o

Anyway, here's my list for today:
  • check banking - all ok
  • daily scratch
  • packed lunch to work
  • buy petrol at my sister's, as it's cheaper than round here
Hmmm I can't think of any more! No washing, ironing, no NSD as I need to buy myself food later, so that's all:D

Have a lovely day everyone:j
I really need to sort out a new signature!

    Morning all :j

Thanks for starting the thread nice and early Milly :D just dashing in quickly as I have an early start at work today

    Today I have / will:

Check online banking and move some money to ISAs (mine and OH's - done)

See to animals and plants (done)

    HM meals (had breakfast)

Housework hurricane after I get in from work due to OH's fussy and condescending relatives descending for the weekend uninvited when I really ought to be chilling out between working on a consultancy report. OH will definitely be joining in with all the necessary hoovering, scrubbing and dusting. They will still think the place is a mess though, and say so :rotfl:

Think what on earth I am going to feed them, as they have not had the courtesy to tell us when they will be arriving and have invited unspecified other members of their family to MY house  (Sorry this all sounds horrible, but there is a LOT of history here. When you have been belittled and looked down on for 30+ years it has an unpleasant effect)

    Anyway, must get on...

Have a nice day everyone :hello:

Dawn - feel free to rant away, next time they invite themselves turn the tables and suggest you visit them for the weekend instead, they sound very inconsiderate.

Vicster - Really sorry to hear about your job, hope you have some success in getting sorted with something, what a shock at such short notice. You are the second person this week that I "know" the other in real life that this has happened to. Good luck!

Can I just quote SM, couldn't have put it better myself.

I am enjoying cup of tea in the house instead in the office - bliss!!

Here is my list and sorry for having duplicate items from yesterday as they didn't get done :o:
    - Scratchies
    - Curly
    - Cashback bingo (oh when oh when I can cash out, I am soooo close)
    - Find out if I can excempt from small claims court fees might be entitled to reduced fees
    - Find ouf how much interest I can charge from [STRIKE]b@st@rd[/STRIKE], sorry ex I will try to get the interest that the payments would have accumulated on CTF
    - Fill forms to take ex to court apparently I need to warn him first so only can do this after 28 days of warning him has gone without him paying
    - If I qualify for excemption from the payment, take forms to court, if not wait till I get money and submit online next week see previous note
    - Check online bank - budget petrol + food for weekend
    - Make some attempt in updating spreadsheets
    - shopping list
    - submit hours
    - clean animals
    - get petrol from cheapest station and get points
    - shopping with sticking to list
    - Call DD's CTF to find our interest rates for Apr-Jul
    - Make complaint to bailiffs about fee them bringing van around (which I don't know if they did or didn't) as to get my payment down by £180.- and threaten to take the case to their governing body if they don't play ball with me

Wishing you all fantastic weekend now. BF is coming here for the weekend and he [STRIKE]threatened[/STRIKE] promised that we are going to sort out my garage so I might be busy...
