surgical spirit

Any ideas where i can buy the stuff? used to be able to get it from Tesco, and the local chemist but seems less and less places selling it! Or is there an alternative to use? For washing feet

    I buy it from Boots. It's great for when my cats have an accident indoors. It also stops them using that area again.

    I think your local chemist may still have it however it's likely that you will have to ask for it and they will want to know what you are planning to use it for. It's the same now for glycerine (which I add to the icing for my Christmas cakes ) however once you've explained what you plan to do with it there isn't an issue.

    Yup, my chemist stocks it.

    They will ask what certain items will be used for, if they have a "darker" purpose. For example, citric acid (which I use for descaling the kettle), is also an ingredient in explosives (so they tell me!).

    Superdrug - bottom shelf with the foot care stuff - reminds me of my childhood but I bought some recently to help my feet after lots of marathon training.
