Credit Report Update post bankruptcy

Hello again,
another Q'n for you if I may.
I have 2 defaults on my credit report; one defaulted 2003 and the other 2004. I was made bankrupt Feb 2007 and discharged Feb 2008... When my credit report is updated will the 2 defaults stay on my file for 6 years from the date of bankruptsy or will they disappear 6 years from the default dates ?

cheers

They are not allowed to change the date of your defaults to make them more recent.

Defaults that are dated after you bankruptcy should be changed to the BR date, and ones dated before should stay as they are.

If they are naughty and try to change the default dates from 2003/4 then you can dispute that and ultimately take it to the ICO if needed.

    Hi Fermi,
many thanks for your reply. So i take it that if the default dates stay the same they will clear from my report quite soon ie: one is dates Dec 2003 so by Dec 2009 is should be wiped from my report ?

    regards

    Yep. Exactly. :)

Obviously, the BR order will still be there, so it won't improve your credit rating. But it is still good to see these things disappear.
