refund onto different card ay M&S

I purchased an item at M&S and need to return it as it didn't fit (was for H and he wasn't with me at the time)
But the problem being I paid using one of my accounts but the card has since been lost and I am awaiting a new card.
It is a joint account with my H.
Can I ask for the refund to be put on the other account (joint again with H), its the same bank etc just different account number.
I have the statement to prove that the accounts are in both names and same bank etc and i do have the receipt.
Do you think they will be funny or refuse the refund??
I can't wait any longer till the card arrives as the 30 days is up tomorrow for the refund.

Benson, this has happened to me before and it hasn't been a problem once I explained that I no longer have the original card.
If you don't want a wasted trip you could always phone the store first and take the name of the person who you speak to and it might save you abit of time and make it easier once you get there.

They might be. I work in a shop and its not the shop assistant being awkward of 'funny' about it. Its company policy, and if i did something like that I could get into a lot of trouble for putting it back on another account. Your story seems genuine but the person who's serving you doesn't know that. They might refund it but most likely back onto a credit note/voucher.0

Hi Benson
I have returned stuff to M&S previously when I no longer have the card I paid with and there has not been any problem with the return. Generally, I find that M&S are very customer friendly with returns- it's just a pity that they have reduced their refund timescale! Good luck!0 -
When you go back to the store for a refund, just put your card straight into the card reader. If they ask to check that the card is the same one originally used, then explain0

No Problem , I have done it in the past.0

If you have any problems just get a credit voucher. You don't have to use it all at once (you'll just get a new smaller voucher) and it can be used on anything including foods such as dine in for £100

I often buy things and my husband returns them. We have a joint account but different numbers. He always tells them it is a joint account but he pays the bills - they laugh and he never has any problems. (I do actually pay my own bills).0
