Moving soon - first effect of BR noticed?

Hi all - me again!
So OH went BR in March (4 months ago tomorrow), and got ED consideration form through last week, which has duly been filled in and sent back pronto. Our lease runs out on this flat in September, so we've started looking for somewhere to move to (we don't want to stay here cos there's ongoing problems with the flat, plus it's too small now).
What kind of thing would be adviseable to use as a "sweetener" to get a LL to take us on as tenants, besides good references and a guarantor in place? We're in the position thanks to my gran, that we can afford a few months rent upfront when we find the right place - would it be worth throwing that into the conversation when it comes up that OH is BR and I'm out of work at the mo, having just finished my degree and there not being any work for me at the moment (did a degree in Real Estate, signed up for temping agencies but no bites as yet).
Also, thanks to my gran, we can afford slightly more rent. So if OH is still undischarged when we move, will he have to tell OR about this, even though the level of rent HE will be paying will be the same as now?
Also, how long did it take people to be discharged once they'd filled the ED paperwork in and sent it back?
Anything I can do to try and persuade a letting agent that we're a good bet?
Help!!!
Thanks in advance

Hi, rent up front, good deposit and a guarantor are all good things to have and should help things along with the landlord. They may ask about long term prospects if you are not working at the moment but it is so long since I rented that I cannot remember if they ask about your employment status. I don't think they do but cannot say for certain.
I don't think you would have to tell the OR that you will be paying a larger amount of rent if the amount that your other half is contributing is not going to change.
Sorry I can't answer the ED question, its something I would like to hear about myself!

you could also tell them that you are in better position to pay on time your rent than a non BR as you have no debt and all the money you receive is yours and solely yours .
soem do ask about employer reference when i first moved in my new accomodation my Ll ask me where i work and how much i do get per month .. but again too depend the LL.
estate agency do ask this though.BSC number 1830
