Hi,
I am just about to start a new job. Having spoken to a couple of mortgage providers it seems they will not grant us a mortgage until my probation period has ended. We can not wait this long. Is there anyone who will not mind I am still in a probationary period?
Many thanks

I was in a similar position, I wanted a mortgage around 2-3months ago and my probation ends on Sunday effectivly.
When I first went for a mortgage they said I could not get it cos of probation period but the 5yr rate I was looking at was 4.69% or something. I has since went up twice by half a % and funnily enough last week they where happy to talk about a mortgage even tho it still technically had not ended yet!!!
Its one of those things! Some banks may give you a mortgage but will take the probation into account and that will dent your chances anyway. Whilst others will flat out refuse.
I would say that if you can find somebody then try make sure its a competitive rate, if not then it might be better to try and wait and get a better deal.
How long will yu have to wait, mine was 6months.Here to help and be helped!0 -
