I'm sure that's true of all competitions, but you have to use a little bit of common sense when posting a comp. Think about those who do not have have Outlook Express or similar.

If you have email, whether its OE, Hotmail whatever, you can still send emails - you just have to type it all in manually.

If someone running a comp, asks that people enter via their site then that is what you should do - otherwise we will end up with no comps as a lot of comps are there to get traffic to websites.

Remember CITV - they used to do loads of comps, but stopped when they realised that people were entering from comp sites, and a lot wernt the children the comps were for!

Do we really want to shoot ourselves in the foot, by ignoring instructions from these websites and risk losing comps?

And how exactly do you do that when you do not have OE to get the address  It's not listed on the page, you need to open it in an email client to find it. Of course, if you are technically minded, you can "properties" the words "Click here", but how many people know you can do that?

The website is causing the problem, so it's their fault if traffic suffers.

Then they need to use the 'contact' button at the bottom and let the website know their error!

    They shouldn't have too.

Ultimately, most people are going to click through the OP's link anyway, and the few that realise they have a problem will come here and find the email address.
