Hi All,
Very desperate and i am hoping someone can give me some good advice.
My ex partner and i bought a property together through N Rock in june 07 , on a together mortgage with a unsecured loan of 23k.
Found out i was pregnant in nov 2007 1 week later i was made redundant, my ex left when my child was 1 week old but continued to pay bills (not without moaning about it)
The flat has been on the market since last year but with no joy so we he placed on market without telling me for 25k less than we payed for it without asking me and agreed an offer 30k less, within this time we triedto see if northern rock would allow us to let the property but they said unless we reduced the mortgage by 80k then no - erhhh if i had 80k i would be asking for help!!!!
The ex refused to appeal it so he demanded we take out two months holiday payments for 1st june and 1st july, within this time we had our negative equity paperwork filled out with northern rock to see if they would allow us to sell it 30k less they have arsed about pushing paper round and not "got round to it yet" its been 6 weeks so far but within this time my ex has gone bankrupt and didn't bother to pre warn me i found out and then checked the online public records where it was confirmed he is now bankrupt leaving me in the S**T
SO MY QUESTIONS REALLY IS WHERE DOES THIS LEAVE ME???
AM I NOW FINANCIALLY LIABLE FOR THE ENTIRE MORTGAGE AND UNSECURED LOAN PART?
IS HIS NAME NOW REMOVED FROM THE MORTGAGE?
WILL THE MORTGAGE AND LOAN JUST BE IN MY NAME ONLY?
IS THERE ANY CHANCE N ROCK WILL CHANGE THEIR MIND ON CONSENT TO LET NOW???
WHAT SHOULD I DO, I WANT TO RENT IT OUT AND WOULD REALLY PREFER NOT TO HAVE TO BANKRUPT AS UNLIKE ME EX I DON'T BELIEVE ITS THE EASY OPTION BEARING IN MIND HE EARNS OVER 45K A YEAR AND THEY HAVE ALLOWED HIM TO GO BANKRUPT MAKES YOU SICK!
SO HOW CAN I GET NORTHERN ROCK TO AGREE RENTAL I KNOW I COULD GET IT RENTED QUICKLY AND HAVE HAD THIS CONFIRMED BY MY ESTATE AGENT BUT NORTHERN ROCK ARE SO DIFFICULT AND NO TWO PEOPLE SEEM TO KNOW THE RIGHT ANSWERS WHEN YOU SPEAK TO THEM BUT EVERYTHING TAKES SO LONG - I HAVE A MORTGAGE PAYMENT DUE ON THE 1ST AUGUST (2 WEEKS TIME) I DO NOT HAVE THAT SORT OF MONEY I AM A SINGLE PARENT

Have a look at CCCS website, they have a freephone number, and say they offer online debt counselling.
