mortgage/loan mis sold?

could you maybe answer this for me please.
i was recently contacted by cento client review regarding being mis sold my mortgage or loan. i did not sign up with them and most definately wont be, however the gentleman i spoke to did get my mind thinking.
he claimed that when any loan or mortgage is sold in the uk and the witness signature must be done in the company of the lender aswell as the borrower and that if this is not adhered to then the agreement has been mis sold. is this the case??
