Went into my local pets at home branch yesterday and saw that they are selling sample packs of Hill Science Plan cat and dog food. I can only testify on the cat one as that is what I bought my kitties but you get a 400g bag for 99p. You can buy up to 3 per customer so thats 1.2kg for £2.97 wheras normally for 1.5kg its nearly £14! So your saving at least a tenner (sorry I can't do exact figures my maths is terrible :P)
On the bag it says each pack is good for 7 days food for one average cat.

The packs I saw were the adult chicken and adult tuna flavours and kitten chicken for cats and the chicken flavour for adult dogs and possibly the lamb flavour too (don't hold me to that) and a puppy variety aswell.

I think the dog packs might have been £1.99 but I think you get more in the bag possibly 1kg (again, don't hold me to that).

Anyway just thought I'd share this awesome offer, it's a really good food aswell, most vets stock it and recommend it so thats a bonus too :)

And secondly while I was in the store I also noticed they've got one of their hutches on offer. It's a two tier Primrose Cottage was £149.99 now £99.99. It's a huge hutch and only on offer until september 11th I believe and you can get it online too

Seems like a good deal if you have more than one bunny or guinea pig who needs a new hutch :)

Thanks a lot for this OP. Am taking kitty to the vets for her jabs soon and Pets at Home is just around the corner so will call in and have a look.

Funny I was in PatH and bought this hutch at 16:35 today before I came on here. Son is currently painting it with hutch stain (£4.88 a tin also from PatH) before building it. Bought the run too for an extra £70 because it fits on the side and is really tall so bunnies can stand up fully.

By the way - free delivery if you order online before midday tomorrow and 10% off (terms & conditions say online only). I took mine home and lovely store manager offered me £20 gift voucher in lieu of 10% off though.

I just cleared out my local Pets At Home of the puppy sample packs.
    Many thanks to the OP.
    I just got 8kg for £16. Standard 3kg bag is £15.20.

So despite them displaying signs stating 3 per customer some stores aren't sticking to this - pity cos mine are and would only allow me 3 bags :0(

Doesn't seem to be knocking off the free delivery even though it says it qualifies for it. Also does the hutch come in one piece or do you have to make it? If the latter how easy is it to put together? Thanks!

The woman on the till did mention it but as there were three of us there she said not to worry about making three separate transactions and did them all in one go.

The hutch comes flat packed but with 2 people it says it will take 30-40 mins to assemble. It looks quite straightforward but we are still painting it and the stain takes 24 hours to dry so we won't be building it yet for a while.

Don't know about the delivery point but the offer expires today so I would be tempted to buy it if you want it then ask them to refund the p&p if it doesn't automatically take it off at the end.

We have built it at last and the run was simple. The hutch less so - really needs two people and allow at least two hours.

Thought they had started selling pets at Home Bargains for a minute
  • very grateful thanks for this, I went to Ipswich store and got 7 packs of the sample cat food, the last ones, the girl jsut said what a good deal they were, no mention of max 3. As I have 4 cats, any savings come in handy.

Just to mention, my cats also love the Lidl small square containers of catfood, poultry and salmon flavours, 19p each. they are enough for 1 small plateful.
