InterviewGold™... anyone tried it?

Hi, has anyone tried the InterviewGold™ interactive online interview training method and could recommend it?

http://www.interviewgold.com

I have a job interview towards the end of next week and I desperately need some preparation and practice but I'm not sure which is the best way to proceed. At £60 is this good value for money or would it be better to pay a professional interview coach £50 an hour or more for a personal 1-2-1 service?

Thanks.

no its not good value for money

just research the company well - look on the internet etc etc so you have background information on the company and its hows them that you intrested

the first question they may ask what you know about the company ? it looks good if you can say that over the past couople of years the company have exapnded or done this this and this ,rather than saying "i dont know".

depending on what the company and the position you are better of having a practice interview with an adult member of the family or friend.

Trouble is I just don't know anyone that would or could give me a mock interview akin to the real thing or even if it would be beneficial. When talking with friends I'm not going to feel the nerves that come with a real job interview and I really need to test myself to see how I cope under pressure. Also I need to be so confident that I can answer anything thrown at me that I can walk into the room relishing the challenge rather than dreading the experience which is how I feel now. Practising alone is an option but I can't see how it can prepare me for the unexpected question. It may just have to suffice though.

Incidentally I can't seem to find any independent reviews about the Interviewgold method. It may be just what I need but in true MSE style I'd feel more confident if someone who'd tried it could give an honest opinion of it's effectiveness before I part with any money.

Try reading THIS and answering the 25 difficult interview questions yourself!

There are SO many people trying to cash in on interview help etc... so it's difficult to know what will actually help.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

You are so right and that's what I'm worried about, but if something came recommended I would consider giving it a try.

Thanks for the link btw. I haven't read all the questions yet because later on I'll try answering them off the cuff and see how it goes. Confidence is the key, I just need to feel confident about my ability to handle anything thrown at me. If I have that I'll start feeling a lot more positive.

    Confidence is indeed the key.

Try putting yourself in the shoes of the interviewer, and imagine YOU are interviewing someone for that job. What would you be looking for? My mate once interviewed someone, and told me that his lunch had given him really bad wind, and he spent the whole interview really paranoid that the candidate could tell he was letting very quiet ones slip...

They're only human beings, so will forgive any nervousness and see through it. They're just normal people just like you.

You just need to stop seeing an interview as being scary, as all they're doing is finding out what you know, and if you know it, it'll pour out eventually! A few nerves are good for you, as it gets the adrenaline pumping!

I have been looking at the site as I have a heavy interview coming up and needs some gritty compentancy based help.
The site appears to have been featured favourably in The Guardian and Daily Mirror and is offering a 7 day 100% money back guanrantee so I am going to give it a try anyway as I have nothing to lose - the £59 is actually also for a 12 month membership to the site and you can access any of the job sectors on there (so you could get friends or family in different job fields to use it and chip in maybe if they are looking for work as well)
Will post my thoughts on it once I have had the interview on 22nd - the proof is in the eating as they say so if I get a job out of it I will be happy as I have had no luck so far !

The money back guarantee is for 7 days only (statutory right under distance selling regs?)

The CD has to be returned unopened and unused to be eligible for a refund.

The "100%" money back guarantee doesn't include £5 of what you send them which they will retain as an administration charge to cover payment processing and CD mailing cost. So more like a 91.5% money back guarantee ... assuming you don't use the product.

My god, There is 100% offer but actually it is around 91.5%. Does it work such way actually?

Hi, just to say that I tried it and found it was good. I am now in my new job and I do think it helped although it's not like a magic bullet; you do have to spend time with it and go through the mock interviews and the other parts like the videos etc. It's probably not for everyone but worked for me and my interviews were mostly competency based and in front of a panel; in fact I had 2 offers at the end.
Just to say, like you I was a bit nervous before subscribing so I called them up and asked about the guarantee and they don't charge £5 so no idea where that came from.
