CRB Check Query

I have recently been successful at interview for an AO job with the DWP. Like others I am on the waiting list. I've completed the CRB disclosure form but am worried that they may turn me down as I have a minor conviction for assault. It did say amongst the DWP paperwork that a criminal record doesnt automatically mean you won't get the job as each application is treated on it's own merits. Has anyone else been in the same position and does anyone know how much detail is on the CRB reply form?
Thanks
Rob

I think that they won't be so keen to give a job in jobcentre for example to somebody who has an assault conviction..how long ago did it happen?0

If it was just a Caution you'll be OK, and depends on when this happened. But if you declare it should be OK.0

Search this forum for CRB checks, there is lots of advice.0

It happened a year ago. It is a conviction and not a caution. I am a respectable decent man. My wife of 30 years announced she had been having an affair and I slapped her across the face. I know I shouldn't have. I lost my job in the Ministry of Justice because of it. I had worked there for 29 years. Now I've got no wife, no job, a criminal conviction and she wants the house that my 3 kids and I live in sold so she can get her hands on some money. The kids are over 18 so it's not looking good. It's amazing how your life can change so suddenly. I desparately need a job to remortgage and buy her out if possible. I did put a covering letter in with the CRB papers to the DWP. Just hope they are understanding.0

if it happened a year ago then they will take that into consideration as eleigibility
you have disclosed it i assume on the paper work.0 -
Yeah I was up front from the beginning and told them the circumstances. I suppose it's all down to if they can use their discretion or not really.0
