Asda wrong prices?

Bit longwinded but here goes :D

Right I bought 2 packs of Miller Genuine Draft in the Gateshead Asda yesterday. I thought these were on offer 2 for £10 as I'd earlier went in the Asda in Benton & it said it was on offer. Now I got these for £5.88 each which meant it cost £11.76 and no offer, however in the Asda in Gateshead it didn't say it was 2 for £10. So I went back to Asda Benton this morning checked it again & sure a shot it said £5.88 for 1 or 2 for £10. Mention this to the girl on the customer service desk & it wasn't meant to be on offer & the 2 for £10 shouldn't have been there so she duly refunded me the difference (fair enough) but am I also entitled to the £2 gift card they sent out when they get their prices wrong?:D

Thinking of telling Asda & perhaps send them my scanned receipts as proof? What do you think?:D

The individual stores I dont think have to have the same offers all the time. I used to find this between stores in Hartlepool (where my parents are) and my local asda in Paisley. You were lucky that it was refunded this time as the Gateshead store would not have given you the refund since it was not on offer. The Benton store just took it that Gateshead should have had it on offer.

Different branches have different offers. At the weekend I spent two hours walking to a more distant branch of Sainsbury's to buy some cheap yoghurt. Managed to get it home before it curdled.
  • Poolie the lady on the customer service desk said it wasn't the case between stores that are close by. It even said on her till that it was just £5.88 & no offer. They got the prices wrong & rightly refunded me the difference:T
