Tesco online grocery - charging flaw?

Not sure if this has been on here before but recently just started using Tesco for home delivery shopping. Got an order this week that included some cans of tuna on BOGOF. My online bill when I ordered showed something like £57 in total, then the discounts kicked in(a handy £5 off voucher etc,) plus -£2.98 for Tuna BOGOF so the final bill was £49 or so.
Order delivered and the Tuna they sent was substitution (in sunflower not brine etc) so rejected and they said they would credit. Just checked statment and I have the £49 charge, but also a £5.96 credit for two cans of tuna returned. The offer is still on as I was in store over the weekend so it's not a computer glitch due to delivery and return being inside and outside a promo period.
So theoretically could you always order a couple of BOGOF's with each order then just reject them each time and get some extra discount? Or do they normally work out refunds accurately?
