Hi All. Turnt up at the court today at 09.15 to allow time for clerk to check paper work. When I arrived I asked the security guard where to go for bankruptcy petions and was looked at in a suprising and disgusted look with a reply "you want to go bankrupt?" when I replied "yes" he said go p the stairs and then wait with the others you may have a wait though theres a power cut" This was the only member of staff who I could have faulted thankfully. I then had to wait around ten minutes to be seen by the clerk who checked my papers this was done in the waiting area in view of everyone however staff was polite. I was then asked if I objected to swearing on the bible which I didnt so swore the affidavit. My money was taken and I was then told to take my file downstairs and to give it to the judges clerk. I then had to wait around fourty minutes and was called in to see the judge this is for EVERYONE in medway court has to see the judge I know in some courts you may or may not but in medway you WILL see a judge! I was informed the interview was recorded onto tape and wa asked questions to confirm questions on the form. After signing changes on the forms made by the judge he declared me bankrupt at 1039 wished me well and that was that. I then had to go back upstairs wait 30 minutes and then talked to the OR via the phone and was told they would be in touch between 3-4 weeks to let me know if I have to go in for an interview or have it via the phone. Thought id share my experience with you guys

Well done Ritchie:T you've taken the plunge, things will only get better from now on! as for the security guard, he was out of order behaving like that!! to be honest every security guard i've seen has been a spotty skinny geek or an overweight old geezer..(security..lol) they're on some of the worst wages in the country, so for him to take the moral high ground is a joke, probably in heaps of debt himself..Ooo that sort of attitute makes me angry:mad:
Anyway goodluck for the future and thanks for sharing.0 -
Well done mate, seems we all have slightly different experiences, and its good to share them for those who still have it in front of them.
Good luck with your OR

Hi Richie999,
I'm glad it all went smoothly for you. Thank you for sharing your experience. And put the security guard out of your mind. There will always be people ready to look down on you and judge you but nobody is perfect and everyone has things they would rather nobody knew. There are a lot worse things than being bankrupt so hold your head up high! :TDeclared Bankrupt: 3rd July 2009
