survey done,now with underwriters

Hi mortgage application was put in 2 wks ago it came back as accepted no further documents required. Survey was done friday and halifax have said today all was fine. Broker has just rang and said it has now gone to the under writers and she is hoping that offer will be issued in 24 hrs.What I want to know is what exactley will the underwriters be doing/looking for at this stage and have i got anything to worry about? Thanks

hopefully (a common word amongst brokers just now!!) they will be looking at the valuation t omake sure nothing negative has arisen. They should then double check everything the already have and issue a mortgage offer.

aww thanks, i have been surfing this site for about 12 months trying to learn about the buying process and cant believe i may of come to the end of it soon fingers crossed lol and good luck to you too

I'm in the same boat as you! I'm waiting for the Halifax to issue our offer, I'm going gray haired before my time and the bags under my eyes are unbelievable! If all goes well then I'm never buying a house again! Good luck with yours! I'm sure it will be fine!

when was your survey done, have you received the survey report yet?

It was last week, but we haven't had a copy - our broker has though! The broker said it was fine and as far as I know so did the Halifax! Our broker told us on Friday that the Halifax advised that they would be in a position to finalize everything by Monday, but as of today they still hadn't finalized it as they are so busy, the Halifax have said it should hopefully be tomorrow - but they said that yesterday.......

well have not heard from broker so rang halifax and theyve said they are a couple of days behind so am still waiting...

Oh gosh isn't it stressful?

I haven't received our valuation report yet although I gather it is ready.

Am guessing it will be next week before we hear!
