Help needed please - how do I clean a wool jacket

Options
My husband leant against a door/wall yesterday and got grease all over his black wool suit jacket.
I have tried to absorb the grease using cornflour which has now caused another problem.
The grease has now turned white and looks worse than ever.
Do you think that the dry cleaner will be able to remove the stains or should I risk washing the jacket on a wool cycle in my machine?
I would be grateful if anyone could offer any advice.
Thank you

I have washed my wool coats and woolly jumpers in the washing machine. I do them on a 30 degree wash. Get them out immiediately when cycle finishes, give them a really good shake and shape by hand. Put on a hanger and find somewhere to dry.

I have had no problems, but I do go in with the attitude of "if it doesn't work I will have to live with it". I refuse to pay drycleaning bills to get something clean.

    Thank you.
I usually do the same thing but was a bit worried because it is an expensive suit jacket. I really don`t want to ruin it.
Think on this occassion there is no other option but to take to the dry cleaners.

I have now taken the suit including the stained jacket to a local independent dry cleaners. I was told that I shouldn`t have used cornflour on the grease because it sets the grease into the fabric.
They have said that they will try to remove the stains. Will just have to keep my fingers crossed that it works.
