Eco friendly varnish for play house

Just put up play house for DD. the floor and ceiling needs some kind of protective varnish and Im looking for something hard wearing that can take lots of kiddy hammering without oozing nasty chemicals into the air. Its only a small space and Im very conscious of her and three or four friends sitting there breathing in nasties.

I've used both ECOS and Greenpaints loads of times and find both very good.

Difficult to recommend anything that will be ideal (except for leaving it natural), though ECOS might well be better than conventional paints, they're still a bit coy about what is exactly in their paints: http://www.ethicalconsumer.org/FreeBuyersGuides/HomeGarden/paintgloss.aspx

What about using linseed oil, can brush on or wipe on with a cloth? I use it on my patio tables twice a year and they look a treat.
Easily available from al the DIY shops, and i believe it to be a natural product.
Most importantly it is not volatile nor will it affect your wee one's enjoyment
