Hello everyone,

My partners 6 year old son is coming to spend the week with us next week and we'd like to take him out for a few days and one of things we were thinking about was hiring a boat for a few hours/day. Does anyone know anywhere thats cheap to hire boats?

Also any places that are reasonable that we could take him to? For day trips etc. Doesn't matter what area as we will be travelling about NI for the week.

Charisma :)

You could have a look on the Tourist Board site for some day trip ideas-

    This site's worth a look too- http://www.outdoorni.com/

Day hire for boats is fairly expensive (or maybe it's just that I'm stingy!). There are quite a few companies you can hire from on Lough Erne. If you Google " Lough Erne day boat hire", it'll give you an idea of prices & availability etc. :)
  • do you mean proper boats? i don't know but you could check with kinnegoe marina and ask them. they are situated on lough neagh and might point you in the right direction.

Craigavon watersports centre does what it says.

Other ideas - Tayto castle, beaches, belfast zoo, planetarium, w5......i'm sure if you do a search in this forum i'm sure you'll find other ideas.

Thanks for the information! Will be doing some reading up tonight when my other half is home from work. Funnily enough we did discuss the Tayto Castle a few days ago, I think we will be doing that.

thriftyminx13 - I'm not sure when it comes to boats. Just something that the three of us could go out in that doesn't cost too much lol.

Thanks for the stenaline link nettles. That may be the cheapest for us to do and should be fun especially on a big boat!
