Me no understand endowment, what to do? please help me.

me endowment policy is end in 2008 feb, me shortfall £7000 if high rate. Standard Life endowment people. they Guarentee me 2 years ago me endowment policy can pay back. it was a let.

    you need to provide more details:

    Current Surrender Value?
    How much you are paying per month?
    The prdicted values and the interest rates they have calculated?
    What the shortfalls will be against each value?

    If you can provide these, we can do some basic calcs to see if you can get better performace elsewhere without further risk and uncertainty

    Also don't forget that SL members are due to vote for demutualisation in the next month or so. If it's a YES vote there is to be a windfall in shares which are heavily tipped to be an average of around £1K value, though this will vary from member to member.

    Not suggesting this should affect whether you surrender, but certainly it should affect WHEN as you'd be barking to miss out on the potential windfall having suffered the pain. AND don't forget to vote when you get your pack through the post.
